FRIDAY & SATURDAY- AUGUST 3 & 4, 2007

Jamaica Arts & Music Summer (JAMS) Festival (August 3 & 4, 2007) highlights the multi-cultural fabric of the Borough of Queens and provides a vehicle for tourism. Last year¬s JAMS Festival attracted over 100,000 residents and visitors to downtown Jamaica, a diverse, historically significant venue for culture, commerce and living.

JAMS Under the Stars - a mega concert Friday, August 3rd, featuring world-renowned Brazilian and R&B Artists.

JAMS Festival, the Main Event - Saturday, August 4th, is a day of multi-cultural family fun and entertainment. Jamaica Ave. will be closed from Parsons Blvd. to 169th Street, (10 Blocks) to host one of the largest tourist destinations in Queens.

Live Entertainment - The Main Stage will feature A Taste of JAMS some of our favorite world-renowned artists.

Multi-cultural Foods & Merchandise Vendors are among a host of service and cultural providers with valuable resources and information for all.

Specialty Blocks:

* Emerging Artist Stages - sprinkled throughout the festival featuring local talent

* Health & Wellness - sports & health demonstrations offer a great way to learn to relax and stay fit.

* Urban Folks Exhibition - artisans in an interactive area, demonstrating expert techniques and craftsmanship.

* Memory Lane - a photographic retrospective of ten years of the JAMS Festival.

* Just for the Kids - features Free rides, popcorn, clowns, balloon sculptors, face painters and entertainment.

* Car Show - tricked out cars, choppers and motorcycles

Locations: JAMS Under the Stars, 6PM-10PM @ beautiful King Park, Jamaica Ave. between 150th & 153rd Streets. The JAMS Festival, 11AM -7PM @ Jamaica Ave. from Parsons Blvd. to 169th Street.

The Jamaica Arts & Music Summer Festival (JAMS) Planning Committee is a partnership between neighboring cultural organizations, businesses and community residents who wish to celebrate the vitality, variety and value of Jamaica.
